Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

restrictive covenants

we bought a house in nov of 2007. We now found out from the county that there are restrictive covenants on the property. Shouldn't we have been givens these at closing? What legal rights do we have if this wasn't done. One restricts farm animals which we talked about having to the previous owner when we had the first showing of the house. Thanks

Re: restrictive covenants

Covenants are public records so in theory you should have known about them at the time of purchase, regardless of disclosure by the previous owner. They also should have shown in the title report, so look to see if they are there. You should also have an attorney review your deed and title .
