Septic Tank Dispute: New Owners PLUNGING for Money
My Mom and Dad bought a new house over a year ago. The owners of our old house are now suing us because ''We knew, or should have known,'' that the septic tank was bad. The new owners are now taking us to Superior Court to pay the cost of the new septic tank (that was put in over a year of us being out of the house).
My parents had our house inspected TWICE, and no one ever mentioned the septic tank having problems. Also, my Mom and Dad replaced everything that the new owners wanted before we ever moved to our new house (plus we gave $500 for the removal of a tree that was NEVER removed!).
I am upset for my parents, and I am trying to help. Please give me some ideas of some laws or paperwork that I could help find. I appreciate your help in this matter!

Re: Septic Tank Dispute: New Owners PLUNGING for Money
Make sure your parents have an attorney who appears for them to handle the case. These complaints are fact sensitive and it is important that they disclose any problems they may have had with the septic in the past. You may want to investigate the possibility of an expert witness to testify as to local land conditions that might impact on local septics.
