Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

Short Sale

2 yrs ago we refinanced our home to include a 2nd mortgage.....refi was an ARM. Now I am trying to refi again to get a fixed rate...my husand pased away a year ago...the lender that we THOUGHT had been paid off in our last refi is saying we only paid a short sale and still owe them. They have placed a lien on my property. According to a Closing HUD ledger, they were paid in full. Do I have grounds to sue?

Re: Short Sale

Before suing, get a copy of the draft issued by the title company to your old lender and make sure it was the amount reflected on HUD. If so, contact an attorney.
