Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana
I signed papers on July 30, 2008 of my home. I noticed that when it rains the water pours through the walls in the basement.Didnt think much except going to have to fix that in the spring.
Well, Now my house is sinking(one side) My walls are cracked and the stairway to the upstairs is pulling away from the wall. The foundation is falling apart.
My question is who is reasponsible for this? I talked to the realty that I got the house through and they spoke with the man that previous owned it. He said he didnt know anything of the house being like that.
I have only had it a year and a half.
SHould I have to try to claim it on my insurance?

You should file with your insurance company and have a lawyer review the documents of the transaction. You shuls also ask a contractor if this probelem existed and was noticeable before you bought the home.
