Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

Statue of Limitations

We have lived in our home for 7 years. When we bought the home it was inspected. Now, as time has passed a crack in our foundation wall has begun to show. It is now obvious that this was ''covered up'' when we purchased the home. Our wall is cracked and bowing the entire length of our basement. Our finished basement now leaks every time it rains. With the possibiltiy of mold under the tile. How long do we have to sue the seller and/or inspector? It will cost us a small fortune to have this problem fixed, when it was hidden from us intentionally. Now we can't sell our home without fixing this problem.

Re: Statue of Limitations

If your home was constructed within the past 10 years, it is possible to go against the builder. If the home is older you have two years from the time you discovered the problem that was covered up or not disclosed to sue the seller for fraud or mistake.
