Legal Question in Traffic Law in Indiana
Expired plate ticket in indiana
My car registration plate expired on August 15 but never got renewal notice from the state of Indiana for the year 2008. I got pulled over in Indianapolis and given a ticket for $75 on Dec 4 2007. I told officer that I never got the renewal notice and since it's still 2007 I will get it registered at the end of dec and officer told me that BMV has stopped sending the notices. The very same day I got my plate re registerd and found out from BMV employee that they have not stopped sending the notices. Should I fight or pay the ticket, If I pay the ticket then how could that affect my insurance and anything else. Thanks for your help.

Re: Expired plate ticket in indiana
It's your responsibilty to get it renewed on time, not the BMV's. So, you can't wine the case at trial. I doubt it will have any impact on your insurance.
