Legal Question in Traffic Law in Indiana

National Driving Record

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have a MI drivers license and I went to renew it this year. I guess they are using some new software that checks every state now. They refused to renew my license because two tickets are showing up on me from 11 years in IN.

I was 17 or 18 years old

Is there a statue of limitations? This was so long ago and I have never been refused my drivers license before. The tickets are disreguarding a traffic signal, and driving while license is suspended.

I have had no tickets in the last 6 years my driving record

is perfect. Could you please help obtain the information I need to have this dismissed if it is posssible.

Thank you

Re: National Driving Record

Unless and until those tickets in Indiana are cleared up, you will have problems with your license in Michigan. No doubt they are appearing as FTA (failure to appear) and no doubt Indiana has suspended your driver's license. What you MUST do is pay the tickets. Don't just send in a check to some clerk somewhere to pay the ticket. You really should get a lawyer invovled, preferably one from the area in which you got the ticket.

If you want to do it yourself, I would suggest you drive down to Indiana, locate the Court in which you were to have appeared and get yourself placed on the docket. Ask them what to do.
