Legal Question in Traffic Law in Indiana
I got pulled over last night for apparently speeding. He cited me for 13 mph over. The problem is he wrote Sunday November, 11th 2009 in the date section of the ticket rather than Sunday November 1st 2009, which is the date the offence actually occured. Is it worth contesting because the police officer wrote the wrong date on the ticket?

Typically if the charging documents puts you sufficiently on notice of what you're accused of doing, the answer is no. Time is usually not an element of the offense hence the common legaleze "on or about" that we often hear. Now if you have an alibi that you weren't there and weren't the driver, then date becomes important and you should consult an attorney.
