Attachment to Will

If I ammend my will by adding an attachment, what are the requirements to make it a legal part of the will according to Indiana law. Thanks.

Re: Attachment to Will

If you want to make a minor modification to an existing valid will, then you can prepare a "Codicil." If you want to make important changes, it would be better to make a new will. A codicil has the same formal requirements as a will. It must be signed by the person, who declares it to be a will (or codicil to his will) before two witnesses, who both must sign. It would be helpful if the witnesses also signed a self-proving declaration, so they don't have to show up in court to establish the authenticity of the will or codicil when it is offered for probate. Good luck.
