Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Indiana

Beneficiary and assistant Personal Rep

We had a friend pass away recently and we became a beneficiary of one of his life insurance policies. Well our father also became one. He is also an assistant Personal Rep for the state because the PR is out of state. Would we have to pay anything for the funeral since we are not blood relative or did not sign anything? Also, our father signed along with the PR at the funeral. Wouldnt he have to pay for the funeral if the PR doesnt? He is trying to tell me that we have to pay because they will throw us in jail and or sue us because we are beneficiarys. He said his lawyer told him there is a clause that says the funeral home and state of Indiana can come back on us being the benificiarys. but I think its just because he wants us to pay for some of it because he is held reliable because he signed with the PR for the funeral and estate.

Re: Beneficiary and assistant Personal Rep

Your father is wrong about you having to pay and you are correct about him paying.
