Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Indiana
My Dad died May 7,2010. My Aunt, that took care of everything, she was power of attenory, said that she would give me his military ring, my brother his military watch, and the kids and grandkids some of his ashes. I got the ring the day of his Memorial Service but she said she didnt remember what she did with the watch. I thought we made a agreement that the next time they came to Fort Wayne, we would meet up and get the things we were supposed to. Its been two months and my brother still hasnt got the watch and we still havent got any ashes. He just saw them here in Fort Wayne too and i guess my Aunt couldnt even look at him. How do I go about getting the things we made verbal agreements on?

Please accept my condolences. First of all, the power of attorney expired the moment that your father passed away. Either you or your brother or someone else can open a probate case and begin the legal process of obtaining and dsitributing the assets.
