Estate and college financial aid

My mother is planning an appointment with her lawyer to ensure that her property (home and land) will be left to me and my sister instead of being taken for expenses to a nursing home or long-term care facility due to her declining health issues. My concern is that I have a daughter that will be starting college in late 2010 and I am afraid that any of my mother�s property that will be deeded to me would have adverse affects on my daughter�s qualifications for college financial aid. Can you please tell me what you would advise for my mother�s estate planning?

Without a lot more facts, I would not venture any suggestions. I suggest that you make sure your mother mentions your concerns to the lawyer.
