Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Indiana

My father is 78 and has recently been diagnosed with dementia. He owns a house and has a savings account, which were always meant to be his children's inheritance. We are all grown. Can he sign his house over to us, and write us each a check, which he is willing to do, if he needs to go to a nursing home? He worked all his life and was in the Navy for 20 years, so the money he has came from his pension and social security.

You need to sit him down with an elder law attorney if he is still competent in order to handle these issues. Do NOT try to do something yourself or get advice on a forum like this; your situation calls for actual lawyer contact, and it is clearly worth the expense to do so.
