Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Indiana
My grandmother passed away and left her home to her children, my aunt and father. They have decided to give the home to myself and my brother. I am living in the home and plan to stay here indefinitely. My brother has little interest in the home and does not want to spend time or money on the many updates it needs. He isn't sure if he even wants his name on the deed but probate is closing and he is basically just going to do what he has to do but wants to be protected until we decide what to do amongst ourselves. Should we set up a family trust? An LLC?

This question should not be answered in this forum. The owners of the property (aunt and father) should schedule an appointment with an attorney to discuss what they want to do, and the best way to minimize ant tax consequences as a result of this potential transfer.
Good luck,
