In Indiana does a will have to be executed through a lawyer, or under the guidance of a lawyer, or through the courts?
Can an individual, follow the instructions of a will without other assistance or direction?

Execution meaning signature on the will, no. Following instructions means administering the estate, and that requires court authority.
