Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Indiana

Late grandfather's will stated that his new wife could live in their house until she died. After her passing, the house was to be sold and the proceeds to be split amongst grandfather's three children from his first wife.

New wife and Her children by another marriage cut off all contact with grandfather's family. Unbeknownst to us, her children sold the house which was located Georgia. New wife passed in June of this year. We only discovered this fact by googling her name.

How do we go about obtaining the proceeds from the sale of the house? We live in Indiana.

Hire a lawyer. If your grandfather died in Georgia, then one in Georgia. Show the attorney the will and the estate documents showing where the will was probated and an estate opened. The attorney can check the ownership records of the house, and after that give you an opinion about what if anything you can do.

There is no way for an attorney on this forum to answer your question without all of the information outlined above.

Good luck.
