Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Indiana

My mother is in her 70's and racked up some credit card debt. She lives with my sister and has no home now or any assets except her car. We live in Indiana. No one elses name is on her cards besides herself. What would happen with that debt if she were to pass away?

If the only assets are a car, probably nothing. Funeral expenses, last medical expenses, And similar costs would be payable before expenses of creditors and bad debts. You will not be responsible, nor will any of her family, be responsible for those unpaid credit card bills.
