Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Indiana

My mother's will

My mother passed away a few months ago. Her will stated that as long as my stepdad is alive that he can live there. The rest of the things on the estate were either not specified of who gets what or was willed to someone. Recently my stepdad paid his lawyer $2500 to have everything on the estate put into his name. Now me and my brother are left with nothing. Is this legal inthe state of Indiana?

Re: My mother's will

You say there was a Will, if the Will left the residue to step-father then it does belong to step-father. Hard to tell without a lot more facts (such as what is being put in step-father's name). It sounds like there was a Will and there should have been an estate opened. Go to the court to make sure of what happened. I really have to suggest that you actually talk to a lawyer.
