obtaining medical record (deceased)
Is there a law against obtaining medical reports for my deceased son. Life insurance company is asking for these reports indue of processing my claim, I am the beneficiary.

In order to obain the records of a deceased person, you must file a petition to start a probate estate in the county in which the decedent resided at the time of his death. The court will issue letters of authority to the personal representative. The personal representative then has authority to sign the medical release form.
