Probate offices are not required to "research" to provide information from files. Consequently, each different county treats a request like you indicate differently. Some will get you what you want, others will require a person to show up and make the copies themselves. If the latter becomes the case, you could hire an attorney in the area of the courthouse to do the legwork for you.

For an Indiana case, if the probate matter is pending, try asking the attorney for the personal representative to provide you with all the records. I suppose you particularly want copies of the Will, Inventory and Accounting. If the attorney won't cooperate, then grieve to the probate judge about it. If it is an old, closed case, the county clerk will pull the file, and will probably - for a fee - make copies. Call the County Clerk and find out what will be required of you. You can probably hire a copy service or paralegal to go if a personal appearance at the clerk's desk is needed. Good luck.
