Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Indiana
if sister is POA and her name is on Checking and savings account for our Mother, and Mother passes. What happens to the money? Does Sister automatically get it? Mother does not have a will. Mother owns two homes and land which are debt free. Mother owes nothing, no debt . There are 4 children. Mom refuses to make a will and said we can all work it out when she is gone. Please advise what steps we will need to take.

Unfortunately, if your sister is on the checking and savings account, depending on how that is set up, she may be entitled, legally, to the funds at any time. The land is a different matter. If the land is in mom's name, when she dies, there will be an equitable division of the property to the heirs. Strongly suggest you go see an attorney in your area.
