No Will, My Lawyer Never Told Executor About Us
There was No Will. Then there was one. In any event, my attorney wants $1,250 of which I have given him $500. To date, the probate court has never heard of my children. They would be the grandchildren involved. The lawyer is charging me for telephone calls to me ( which I never received). He is charging me for visits to and conversations with the executor of the Last Will and Testament of the deceased grandfather. I am not able to reach him on the telephone. The courts have no information about us at all. What would you suggest that I do? I am not rich. Thank you.

Hello. It sounds as if there is bad communication between you and the lawyer. Probate matters can be very involved. You need
to contact the lawyer and set up a face to face
meeting to clear the air of any misunderstanding.
If he does not call you, send him a letter. I will be happy to answer any other questions that
you might have.

Do you have a written agreement between you and your attorney which explains what you retained him to do and the fees he will be charging?
I am curious as to why you retained the attorney to begin with. Has he provided you with a copy of the Will? I would be more then happy to talk to you about this matter.
