Legal Question in Consumer Law in Indonesia

I am an indian stayin in indonesia,the gas company fitted gas connection in my appartment but it ws not done properly as a result there ws a flame out,i ws caught on fire,though my company for which i work for paid the hospital bills as i was insured.it has been 5 months now i have recoverred but i want to take action against the gas companh,please guide,what can be done?i faced a huge pain and was in bed for a month and now have permamnet burnt maarks on skin,how am i entiteled for compensation,please note i had not signed any contract with them.It was a verbl understanding between us and negligence on their part.pleasse guide me.

Hi Mark,

I hope that your condition will be better very soon.

In regard with your matter, yes you are entitled for compensation from the gas company ("company"). If they are not giving you any compensation after 5 months, then you should preparing subpoena regarding your intention to have the compensation. The second subpoena is also needed if they are not responding/respond without any proof, then you can filed a tort to the nearest court.

However, if you are not the only one victim in this case, then you could filing a class action lawsuit for monetary damage or injunction. I believe it will be better if you could filing class action rather than going to the court by yourself.

Meanwhile, you need to wait for the compensation by the company in order to wait for their goodwill so that it will not be used by them as their defense grounds in the court.
