Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in Iowa
A friend of ours had possessionof some of our stuff, he was getting evicted and he than went to jail. We contacted the landlord to get our stuff, he refused to give it to us so we took him to small claims court. The judge dismissed it. Can we file against him again since it was dismissed or will we have to appeal the judges ruling. Also the judge asked us about a Replevin, what is this mean? did we file wrong in small claims court?

You get to file an appeal but if the court dismissed it you do not get another bite at the apple.. Replevin is a writ to repossess your property.
