Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in Iowa

How do I write an appeal for a judgement againse me.

I have a judgement against me and my husband. The payday loan company had to file a second judgement because they forgot to add some charges to the first one. The first one was paid off on 30 april 2008. The judgement was in both names and this one is in both names. I need to appeal because it is not our fault that they forgot to collect the correct amount the first time. I have kept all documentation but I dont know how to write an appeal or dispute this.

You can go to the Iowa Supreme Court self help section on their website, http://www.judicial.state.ia.us/

This may be of assistance to you. The key question would be, when was judgment rendered, and was it in small claims or district court because you only get a short time to file a notice of appeal and do all the other things that are required of you. I would check out the Rules of Appellate Procedure.
