Legal Question in Banking Law in Iowa
Can I obtain a subpoena or other court order for my own bank records without a related court case?
I had a checking account at online bank, NetBank. In late 2007, NetBank was shut down, and its assets, including my account, were acquired by ING Direct, another online bank. I recently asked ING to provide me the final three months' statements (Oct-Dec 2007) before my NetBank account was converted to an ING account. I believe that ING actually owned/controlled the NetBank accounts during that time period. I was told that ING could only provide the records under subpoena.

Without knowing what sort of information you want to obtain and for what purpose, it's impossible to render an opinion.
