Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Iowa
Can a HOPE Scholarship Credit be taken by a bankruptcy estate? As in, I filed bankruptcy in December, and made only $14,000 dollars in the whole of last year. But the HOPE Credit left me with a refund of $2000--a much more sizable return than I would have received otherwise. And much needed. Can the trustee of the estate claim that even though it's supposed to go towards school?
