Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Iowa

Medical Bankruptcy

We filed a full brankruptcy a few years ago and this year we were hit will over 8000 in medical bills that we are slowly trying to pay back and the hospitals and doctors all have a problem with the seamingly small payments we have been sending them. I know that you can not file a full bankrputcy for 7 or so years but is there a way to file a bankruptcy on just the medical bills. Or, do I have to worry about the threats of garnishment if we don't up the payments we send to the doctors and hospitals to what they see fit? Any ideas and help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Medical Bankruptcy

You could file a Chpater 13 case and essentially force the doctors/hospitals to accept your repayment terms. You would propose a repayment plan over 3 to 5 years. Please feel free to call me to personally discuss your situation. ph. (800) 303-0720
