Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Iowa
Morgage question
My wife and I may divorce can I just stop paying the morgage and second morgage b/c I can't pay rent for a apartment and both morgages. What will it do my credit or do I have to file bankruptcy. Most of our debit is in the house and both morgages. ?? Thanks

You had better talk to your divorce lawyer, to see what you are up against, if you stop paying on the mortgages, and then a divorce judge says you have to pay you may have ruined your credit, and you cannot discharge in bankruptcy maintenance decrees, or divorce obligations without
proving undue hardship.
