Legal Question in Business Law in Iowa

Hello All,

My Question is 2 weeks ago my friends shop burnt down and I had around $10,000 of my on personal property(tools,toolbox,air compressor,ladders,etc..)I didnt have much room in my garage so he let me keep my stuff there.2 weeks ago his shop burnt down a total loss and All of my items were in there.He told me he didnt think he even was covered so I went ahead a filed a claim with my insurance company that covered 10% from my home personal property amount that was to be full replacement but my insurance company only paid me $5500 and my total claim loss was $9100.CAN I go after my friends insurance company for the rest of my loss $3600 and my $500 deductible they took out of my check?His insurance company is paying now. You can try. Whether you'll succeed against his insurance company's army of lawyers is another story, plus, they're not going to let you double dip either.
