Legal Question in Business Law in Iowa
Client names and addresses taken by ex employee.
I have a Boarding and Grooming business. I had a groomer go in the night and pack her things up and leave a note with the key to my business.
It has been brought to my attention that she has taken some of my mailing list and sent out letters to my clients.
Is this legal for her to take my clients names and addresses to do a mailing for her gain? She has relocated in another grooming shop.

You may have the basis of a civil complaint, but I do not see anything illegal here, unless you had a solid noncompete agreement in place.
