Legal Question in Business Law in Iowa

if their is a contract btween two business and one changes their name. can you void the contract and get the stuff back

As a Franchise Attorney I need to ask a question. You have to be kidding? If this were possible, businesses would constantly change their names to avoid contractual responsibilities. Doesn't work that way. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.

No, unless maintaining the old name was material to the company's obligations under the contract -- in other words, unless the company breached the contract by changing its name. That would rarely happen.
