Is it possible an Iowa LLC is able to be converted to a non-profit? What certificate of organization is needed?

The cleanest way to do this would be to dissolve the LLC and then refile as a nonprofit corporation.

It conceivably is possible, but it would be very complicated. There are certainly easier ways to do this (though none are really "easy"). You should contact an attorney in your area to assist you with this.
