Legal Question in Business Law in Iowa

late billing

I recieved a bill for expenses my landlord claims he incurred three, four and even five years ago. He has never billed me before now. Records from that far back are hard to find so I can't verify his claim. Is there a limit to how long a person can wait before sending a bill? I thought there was a two year requirement.

Re: late billing

This sounds questionable. There is no legal reason why this person shouldn't try and collect a bill, even if it is kind of old. My suggestion to you would be to retain the services of an attorney to see if this matter can't be resolved.
