Re: recording nonprofit meetings

The question stated so simply begs the answer: "Yes." But add context to the question along with detail and the answer may be "No."

Are you a member or invited guest?

Do the meeting rules prohibit taping?

Have you sought permission?

What did they say?

Is it a meeting where members of the public have been invited?

In what state is it being held?

In Iowa you aren't allowed to record someone's voice if you're not part of the conversation. Are you a part of every conversation going on that you are recording? When you video tape will you have the sound turned off?

Too many unknowns to give you any workable advice.

Re: recording nonprofit meetings

They're not public events so you'd have to have permission. The issue of them being nonprofit is irrelevant.
