Legal Question in Business Law in Iowa
What rules and/or certifications does Iowa have for becoming a legal document preparer (other than not offering legal advice)? I have a paralegal degree, although I am not using it at my current job, and I would like to start a document preparation service to subsidize my income.

There is no laundry list of things you can and cannot prepare. You ought to consider the following. Iowa Supreme Court Commission On Unauthorized Practice of Law v. Sturgeon, 99-0417 (Iowa 2001) and its progeny. I do not see how one could prepare legal documents for filing with courts without falling afoul of this.
