Legal Question in Business Law in Iowa
Being Seperate - financially
Hello - I was wondering if there is a way after 6 years of marriage to get my name off of all financial records. I don't want anything to do with the farming business anymore. I want my name off all leases, bills, operating loans, accounts, grain checks, everything. What would it take? Can I then sign a post nuptual agreement? I don't want a divorce, I just want everything related to my SS # seperate. I work as a secretary part time and a farmer part time but don't get credit as the farmer because I am a woman, and my husband has made it very clear to me that HE is the breadwinner, so let's MAKE him the true breadwinner.

Unfortunately, not having your name on some document of this kind means absolutely nothing because you are jointly responsible for all these debts.
