Legal Question in Business Law in Iowa
My son has a part time business out of our home where he fixes lawn mowers and motors of every size. He usually does this for free. Soemone in our community has complained about his business and now the town mayor says he has to quit. Our home is not zoned for a business because it's just a hobby to him. Can they make him quite?

It would probably depend on what your residence is zoned for and whether this is a nonconforming use. You can make your argument when the board of adjustment meets to discuss the matter.

Without reviewing the city or town ordinances it's impossible to advise you how to proceed.
