Legal Question in Business Law in Iowa

Sting Operations

My work place conducts sting operations from time to time. This consists of hiding merchandise under other merchandise or on the bottom of the shopping cart where we, the cashiers have to really lean over the counters to see under them. There are mirrors on the opposit counters where we almost can see under the carts, but it takes a lot of doing. If we do not see the hidden items or items under the carts then we will get suspended for 3 days, after 2 offenses we will get fired. What I want to know is this kind of sting operation legal in this type of situation? I was caught once already and was treated like I was the thief, and felt humiliated and very upset,I could hardly work the rest of the shift. I don't want my job in jeopardy because of this. Any helpful advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Sting Operations

Iowa is an employment at will state. That means you can be fired for any reason, good reason or no reason at all. You really don't have any rights here.
