Legal Question in Business Law in Iowa
Not suppose to do excessive lifting
I have a disease called Chiari I Malformation and I have had surgery for this disease twice. I've had two opinions on this. One says that I should not be lifting very heavy items, which is what my job consists of. I took this note to my job and asked them to work with me on moving me to a differnt department which would consist of not lifting heavy items. I have not been hurt yet, but what if something happens to me. What if I get hurt due to lifting?

If you are injured by lifting at work it will be covered under workers compensation laws in Iowa. You will be entitled to weekly indemnity payments and medical benefits.
