Legal Question in Business Law in Iowa

So i went to the university of phoenix last year online everthing was great. Untill my computer broke. I emailed my teachers right after it happened and let them know it that it would be a week before i got money to replace it and what i needed to do. Just so you know everything was payed for through FEd aid. I was told by the teacher that that was fine just to let her known when she was back. A week or two later I emailed her to let her know that got my computer fixed and what i need to do to get caught up on my homework I was informed that because i was late my homework that i was wiithdrawn from the class and that i had to pay 300 dollors OUT OF POCKET to get back in the class...I didn't go back but because they withdrawn me from the class for no reason my loans came due and i cant pay it so my credit is shot to hell.... can they do that since its Fed loan?

The fact that the feds lent you the money doesn't mean the school's academic policies and their relationship to student retention are affected by it. I would suggest that you contact the school. Right now they're in deep and being investigated by the federales so it might be a good time to exert whatever leverage you can bring to bear on them. If you cannot pay your loans I suggest you apply to your lender for a deferment or forbearance. On the other hand if you defaulted on your student loans, or you secured private loans all bets are off.
