employee used information off my check to contact me for a date

Whether or not this contact amounts to an invasion of privacy may have a lot to do with whether the information on your check is printed or was asked for and written by the store clerk. Even if it were written, you should probably be flattered and simply say, "Thanks, but no thanks.� You have no damages and realistically where does this invasion of privacy emanate? A simple phone call is not invasive since we have a telephone for people to contact us. In other words we�ve invited the contact. How would you feel if he were a millionaire? Would you still have the same sense of a privacy invasion? Of course to be fair I�d have to know more about what he said to you. If he was vulgar or crude or lascivious it might make a difference, then you might contact his supervisor and put them on notice. This is an example of a no damage case. Good luck and next time ask if he has an older sibling.
