Legal Question in Business Law in Iowa
wedding photographer sued by clients
I am a wedding photographer, a recent wedding one of my flash cards was corrupt and the images from the reception are lost (a high estimation is 43% of the entire days images are gone). The client did recieve 212 images from the day and I in turn refunded them half the amount they paid.
Understandibly they are very upset but feel I owe them much more. They are saying they will take me to small claims and sue me for the full amount they paid and additional damages.
My contract states I limit my liability for lost or damaged images. It also states that the deposit is non-refundable.
I want to know how well contracts hold up in court and what would be my chances against them.
Thank you,
Stacy

Re: wedding photographer sued by clients
If the contract is as you say, they can sue you but they're not likely to prevail.
