Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Iowa

accused of harrasment

to put it plain n simple. girl A tried to break up my fiance and i a year ago. Girl B which is her sister now wants to fight me because her sister didn't get what she wanted. so now almost a whole year later i see girl B on the street passing by in her vehicle, she pulls over and waves for me to pull over and yells ''come on bitch''. I continue driving by and just flipped her off to basically say without words, ''screw you''. i am over what happened a year ago obviously she isn't. so i go home, drop my 2 kids and babysitter off at my house and i go to my college class. i return home at 9 and my babysitter says an officer stopped by with a complaint that i was out harassing girl B. i go to the station to talk to the officer and he basically tells me flat out that if she makes another complaint that i will be arrested, no questions asked. how is that possible? it is just hear say that he is going on. i didn't harrass her so how could i get arrested for it? then i slipped up and said a curse word and he said he would arrest me for that to? is it illegal to say a curse word in a police station? and further more can he discuss any of this matter with my babysitter? who by the way is only 15?

Re: accused of harrasment

This is not a civil rights question and it has nothing to do with civil rights law.

Rather it looks to me like people behaving badly in public.

If you need to find out whether your actions constitute harassment, continue on with the current course that you are on and I am sure that the police will oblige you with an unforgettable law enforcement experience.

I do not think that you will have a legal problem if you leave well enough alone.

As to your question about the babysitter.

You have no say over what police ask your babysitter about. You're not her parent.
