Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Iowa

I have 9 years of experience in this auditing department and received a second BBA degree in accounting (first was in Finance) in 2007, yet when a recent promotion was opened in my department, the supervisor, gave a shell of an interview to me but refused to seriously consider me for the position, and verbally stated he would not give it to me on previous verbal conversations. He has promised to upgrade me on a number of reviews verbally, but won't do it. A previous older woman who retired in our department had to file a greivance to get her promotion, he held a grudge against her throughout her remaining employment until she retired.

Are you asking whether you have the makings of a lawsuit? Probably so, but you'll have ot have names dates and paper to prove anything.
