Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Iowa
Civil Suit
In a civil case I started Against a doctor in Clinton Iowa everything was going along fine then the judge dismissed the case when at the beginning the defendants lawyer demanded a jury trial. Can a judge find the defendant guilty without a jury trial and if not why can he dismiss a plantiffs case without a jury trial? I would think that would be against the consitition for a fair trial.

Re: Civil Suit
It's a civil matter and there's no issue of guilt. Plaintiff's cases in civil matters can be and are often dismissed without trial.
