Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Iowa
collect payment for service
I am a concrete contractor and completed a job for a former co-worker. The job was completed in August and they paid $1000.00. I attempted to collect the remainder of the money owed, but now they are arguing on the amount owed. We initially had a verbal agreement, but that was broken when they didn't hold up to their end of the bargain. Do I have a right to sue them for the money they owe me for my service?

Yes, but you may have to prove the existence of your oral agreement.
