conviction and background records

I recently had a interview at QWEST.I passed the test and Urinalysis..they said they were going to run a background check I said I had one ran recently through the 5th judicial district of iowa and I could show them what came back on it..2 counts of willful injury and 2 counts of robbery 2nd..which were all Dismissed and a plead guilty to a simple assault..due to I knew what I did was wrong..but they called me and said the Firm they run there Background checks through showed I was convicted NOT charged with those 4 felonies..I told them I gave them a copy with the highlited disposition records saying I plead guilty to a simple assault..and this resulted in me not getting the job..unfortunatly eeoc doesnt deal with background and conviction records but any info or help would be appreciated..thank you for your time and consideration

There's not a lot you can do because Qwest does not have ot offer you employment. I'd get a certified copy of your record from the Iowa Department of Justice over in the Hoover Building and see what's in it. It could be erroneous if it's showing convictions on those matters. Yoyu can also obtain a certified copy of the judgment and sentence in your case from the Court and if this is favorable you can ask Qwest to reconsider their decision.
