Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Iowa
CPS confirms allegation with no prior investigation!
Hello readers,
my name is not important I am a 24 y/o, whom is in the midst of the most mind-boggling court battle of my life (actually the only court battle of my life). In the beginning of this court battle consisting originally of 2 counts luscivious conduct, and 1 count indescent exposure, I was supposed to converse with an investigator from the Des Moines PD,whom I declined to speak with, and instead hired an attorney, who had told me that he would ''take care of it'' when they charged me, the CPS worker sent me a form saying that the charge of indescent exposure of a minor had been confirmed, and placed on the child abuse registry for a period of approximately 5 years, without prior investigation. One week later the charge of 'indescent exposure' had been dropped by the court without prejudice, and the CPS worker insists that this child abuse registry would hold my name on their database until they themselves performed a thourough investigation which again could take 5 years. I don't see the justice in that? I don't see how that's legal, and I wouldn't be on that list if the CPS worker would have performed a thourough investigation in the first place. What can I do?

I suggest that you contact the attorney that represented you and ask them to investigate.
