Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Iowa
Dad Loses daughters IRA (inheritance) in bankruptcy
My great grandmother left me $3,000.00 when she died. It was put into a variable annuity fund and was worth 8,866.58. When my parents divorced it was suppossed to be put into my name when I turned 18. I am 19 and my fathers business went bankrupt for the second time in three years. He said he had no control over it and now it is gone. My sister has the same IRA and hers is untouched. Is there anyway to recover the funds or is my father responsible?

It sounds as though your father owes you the inheritance you were left as he apparently spent it. Consult a lawyer in your town.
